Dear Friends,
On Monday or Tuesday (which is Sunday or Monday night in the U.S.) our documents will be submitted to the legal system of Taiwan. This is a critical point in Maren's adoption. We will be assigned a court date and a judge. It will take up to 2 weeks after filing to hear about our court date. The court date will be somewhere between 2-6 weeks after that. Would you please stand with our family in prayer? What judge we receive will greatly influence the timing of the completion of our adoption.
I hope that I am not beating a repetitive, annoying drum here!
I believe that God is great and He helps the humble who ask for help. We are helpless in this court system apart from our mighty God who turns the king's heart like water in His hands. Praise God that He is our Defender and He hears us when we call to Him.
These are scriptures that I have been praying over Maren. They have been a great encouragement to me. If the Lord leads would you please pray them too on her behalf?
Dueteronomy 10:17-18 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who is not partial and takes no bribe. He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.
Psalm 68:5&6 Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home.
Psalm 72:4 May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the children of the needy, and crush the opressor!
Psalm 35:23 Awake and rise to our defense! Contend for Maren, my God and Lord!
For the sake of bonding with Maren we would like to hold her in our arms as soon as possible. For the sake of adoption expenses a speedy adoption would be easier financially (although we know God will provide). We recognize that we do not tell what God to do and that he absolutely knows best! We place Maren's adoption in His loving hands. And, we ask for His help and His favor. We trust in Him.
Thank you for your prayers at this important time!
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine on you and give you peace.
